Colorful Standard

Pre-Washed Recycled Merino Wool Sweater

This recycled merino wool sweater by Portugal based Colorful Standard was spotted on sale at one of our favorite stores in the city, Livid. Are you as in awe of the light, lavender blue color as we are?  They call it Polar Blue, and it is absolutely amazing. It was one of the first features that actually drew us to investigate this piece. We also are familiar with the brand Colorful Standard, and continually boast one of their original crewnecks/pullovers, so we knew it wouldn’t disappoint. The color, as well as the piece itself, will transition nicely from warmer winter days to spring afternoons, and even cool summer nights with a pair of shorts. The recycled merino wool is very cozy and comfortable and you can’t keep your hands off of it. You may even have to swat away the hands of others that are enraptured by the allure of the texture. You can check out more recycled wool crewneck/pullover sweaters from Colorful Standard below.

Piece #2

REVOLUTION (RVLT)

Knit Sweater

Revolution is a “conscious streetwear” brand out of Denmark. We are like-minded in our slow fashion approaches so of course it was a joy to discover them again in our favorite city shop (Livid). What we love is the pattern. It features a sliver of the Fair Isle look in many different colors. You know what that means right? Firstly, the “Fair Isle look” refers to the pattern type, whose origins reside on a remote island north of Scotland. You can read more about the history of the Fair Isle Sweater here. What’s also interesting is that BBC mentions how Fair Isle is now a general term for multicolored sweater, and it is the multicolored pattern within this sweater that truly gives it a one-of-a-kind look. Conclusion, there are tons of creative ways to style this historically relevant garment. We don’t like to be too “matchy, matchy”, so we like to style it with other conservative neutral pieces that allow the beauty of the center pattern to be front and center. What was also unique about this piece is that my wardrobe lacks any Fair Isle type piece, so this makes a lovely addition capable of being styled effortlessly from a button-down underneath, to a light jacket, to a top coat, like shown below. You can check out more crewneck/pullover sweaters from REVOLUTION below.
